New EDM Direction: “Alien Metal” Title Track

The Australian six-piece announced the title track from their forthcoming EDM-focused album Alien Metal. The song serves as the first public glimpse of the band’s shift toward high-energy electronic music, following the release of the single “Level 5” the previous month. The track was created using the group’s modular Eurorack rig, affectionately named “Nathan,” which the band employs in live performances.

Background: From Psychedelic Rock to Electronic Dance Music

“Alien Metal” marks the group’s 28th studio album and their first full-length foray into EDM. Guitarist Joey Walker encouraged Mackenzie to explore the modular synth, prompting the band’s experimental pivot.

Tour and Live Shows

The band will support the new material with a three-night run at New York’s Forest Hills Stadium next month, followed by a “Rave Show” at Under the K Bridge Park in the same city. An Australian tour has also been announced, slated for October visits to Thirroul, Sydney, and Melbourne.

Album Details and Production

Alien Metal is slated for release “later this summer” on P(doom) Records. Production centered on the modular synth rig, which the band has integrated into its live setup. The album’s development reflects a deliberate departure from the psychedelic rock sound that defined earlier releases such as the 2025 album *Phantom Island*.
