New Cast for the Supernatural Thriller

Paramount Pictures has confirmed that Madeline Brewer, Emory Cohen and Nicholas Alexander Chavez will join Margaret Qualley and Callum Turner in the upcoming remake of the 1981 supernatural thriller *Possession*. The film also adds Paul Dano and Diego Calva to the ensemble. Brewer, known for *The Handmaid’s Tale*, most recently appeared in Lionsgate’s *Anniversary* and the final season of Netflix’s *You*. Cohen’s latest credit is A24’s *Marty Supreme*, while Chavez earned acclaim for portraying Lyle Menendez in Ryan Murphy’s *Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story* and will reprise a collaboration with Murphy in *Grotesquerie*.

Production Team and Studios

Director Parker Finn, who also authored the screenplay, leads the project. Finn produces alongside Jonathan Fass under their Bad Feeling banner, while Roy Lee and Andrew Childs produce through Vertigo. Robert Pattinson is attached as a producer, and Marc Bienstock serves as executive producer. The film is being developed by Paramount in partnership with the Vertigo and Bad Feeling production companies.

The 1981 version of *Possession* follows a woman whose request for divorce triggers increasingly disturbing behavior, eventually revealing a sinister supernatural element. The remake aims to reinterpret these themes for a contemporary audience while retaining the core premise of marital breakdown leading to otherworldly horror.
