BBC Documentary Presents New Allegations of Sexual Misconduct Against Jared Leto

On July 29, the BBC aired *Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret*, a documentary in which ten women—nine speaking publicly for the first time—share accounts accusing the Oscar-winning actor and musician of sexually inappropriate behavior. The film presents allegations spanning 2002 to 2016, when Leto was in his 30s and 40s.

Four of the women describe conduct that meets the BBC’s criteria for criminal sexual misconduct. One alleges Leto assaulted her in a motel bathroom at age 17; another says they had sex in California when she was 17, which would constitute statutory rape under state law.
