Paramount+ Greenlights “Clueless” Sequel Series

Paramount+ has greenlit a six-episode limited series continuing the 1995 teen comedy *Clueless*. Alicia Silverstone will reprise Cher Horowitz and serve as an executive producer. Production begins in Los Angeles in 2027, focusing on Cher as a businesswoman and mother of a teenage daughter.

*Clueless* (1995) adapted Jane Austen’s *Emma* to a Beverly-Hills setting and became a cultural touchstone. A short-lived TV adaptation aired from 1996-1999. After the film’s 30th-anniversary screening at the Academy Museum and its addition to the National Film Registry, a sequel concept entered development at Peacock in early 2025 with writers Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, and Jordan Weiss. Peacock dropped the project in April 2025, and the creators shopped it to Paramount+.
