Wildfire Near Sizewell B Nuclear Plant Declared a Major Incident

A wildfire broke out on a Wednesday afternoon on Dunwich Heath, a protected heathland on England’s eastern coast. The blaze quickly spread to cover almost 250 acres (about 100 hectares) of land. Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service classified the event as a “major incident,” a designation used in Britain for emergencies that demand extraordinary measures from multiple agencies.
