Galliano Met Exhibit
- Metropolitan Museum of Art will open John Galliano: Horizons on May 9 2027, running through Jan. 9 2028.
- Curator Andrew Bolton’s “Bearings” section addresses Galliano’s 2010-2011 antisemitic, racist and anti-Asian remarks, Dior dismissal and conviction for insults, after museum leaders Anna Wintour consulted New York rabbis.
- The show, third Costume Institute retrospective for a living designer after Yves Saint Laurent (1983) and Rei Kawakubo (2017), will anchor the 2027 Met Gala and, director Max Hollein says, examine Galliano’s artistic achievement and ethical accountability.
