Infantino Cancels Plan
- FIFA, led by President Gianni Infantino, cancelled the $20 billion Forward Enterprise plan after a revolt.
- UEFA warned it would boycott Cup events unless the plan was dropped, and CONCACAF and AFC also objected.
- Infantino set a Sept. 19 vote deadline, promising up to $40 million per association as an incentive.
- COO Kevin Lamour said staff felt deceived, that Carlos Cordeiro resigned, and that the $20 billion Joshua Kushner’s Thrive Capital deal was abandoned.
