The original “The Fast and the Furious,” which launched the long-running action series, is slated for a theatrical re-release in late summer to mark its 25th anniversary. That 2001 film featured Diesel alongside the late Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Rick Yue and Chad Lindberg, and earned $207 million worldwide (not adjusted for inflation). The most recent installment, released in 2023, concluded with a cliffhanger that set up further sequels. “Fast Forever” will be directed by Louis Leterrier, known for “The Transporter” and “The Incredible Hulk.” Variety reports that the film is scheduled to open in theaters on March 17, 2028.
