Tour Announcement and Schedule
Megadeth announced a Spring 2027 UK/European leg titled “Breakout: Hibernation of the Nations.” The itinerary begins on March 9 in Belfast’s The O2 and proceeds through major arenas in London, Nottingham, Manchester, Cardiff, Glasgow, Birmingham, Leeds, Paris, Brussels, Düsseldorf, Copenhagen, Oslo, Hamburg, Berlin, Krakow, Munich, Bern, Milan, Lyon, Barcelona, Madrid and Lisbon, concluding on April 13 in Lisbon’s Sagres Camp Pequeno. Supporting acts include Black Label Society and Testament.
Background and Farewell Context
The tour is part of the band’s ongoing farewell run, which launched earlier this year with North and Latin American dates. In the summer of 2023, frontman Dave Mustaine announced the group’s impending retirement, stating a desire to end on his own terms. Mustaine later disclosed that radial neuropathy—commonly called “wrist drop”—has made guitar playing painful, contributing to the decision to conclude the band’s career.
Ticketing and Presale Timeline
Ticket sales are structured in three phases. A Cyber Army fan-club pre-sale started on August 4, followed by an artist-presale on August 5. A Live Nation pre-sale for the UK begins at 9 a.m. local time on August 6, with general sale opening at 10 a.m. on August 7. All sales are conducted through Ticketmaster.
Rumored Greatest-Hits Compilation
A separate report noted that a listing for a Megadeth greatest-hits collection titled *Fast Hits* appeared on a major retailer’s website, suggesting a possible release on August 21. The band has not issued an official comment on the rumor.
Impact for the Metal Community
This marks Megadeth’s first UK headline tour since November 2015, when they co-headlined Wembley Arena with Lamb of God. The extensive European circuit gives fans across the continent a final opportunity to see the Grammy-winning “Big Four” thrash act before its planned retirement, fulfilling Mustaine’s goal of a three-to-five-year farewell window.
