Trump Issues Gaza Contract

The Board of Peace, led by U.S. President Donald Trump, issued its first construction contract for a Gaza Strip outpost on August 6, 2026.
Officials say the contract is still awaiting final approval and no award has been finalized.
Earlier plans called the phase a temporary camp with tents, cots, chemical toilets and hand-washing stations.
Arkel International, a Louisiana firm with prior U.S. Middle-East government work, was named as prospective contractor.

The Board of Peace, chaired by U.S. President Donald Trump, issued a contract for a 150-person military outpost in Gaza on August 6, 2026.
The plan advances a militarized outpost while most of Gaza’s two-million residents live in makeshift, unsanitary camps.
Arkel International, a Louisiana firm with prior U.S. government work in Iraq, received the contract.
The outpost measures 100 m by 120 m, housing 150 Moroccan troops rotating from an Israeli base.
