TikTok Layoffs
- TikTok USDS Joint Venture announced it will lay off 250 employees and close its Nashville office on Oct. 5.
- Spokesperson Zanna Crowley said the closure will streamline operations and better align teams for long-term growth.
- Under a 2024 federal law, non-Chinese investors own about 80 percent of the joint venture and ByteDance holds 19.9 percent.
- Analyst Rob Enderle said the new ownership could trigger additional layoffs at other TikTok U.S. sites.
