Skytraders Rescue Researcher
- Skytraders rescued a U.S. researcher from Antarctica on 31 July 2026 using the Airbus A319 “Snowbird 1”.
- The plane left Hobart at 2:44 a.m., landed at McMurdo’s Phoenix Airfield at –43 °C and transferred the patient.
- Captain Al Wallach piloted the flight.
- Co-pilot Louise Robertson said conditions pushed the aircraft to its limits.
- The aircraft flew to Christchurch, New Zealand, where the researcher was admitted, prompting Emma Campbell to say the mission showed crew skill and partnerships.
