Historical Context

In July 1995 Bosnian Serb forces killed more than 8,000 Bosniak men and boys in Srebrenica, a crime the ICTY and ICJ later classified as genocide. The massive forensic effort that followed, including UN-coordinated exhumations, established standardized mass-grave protocols.
