China CPI Slows
- China’s consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.5% year-on-year in July 2026, the slowest increase since January.
- The producer price index (PPI) increased 3.5% year-on-year, coming in below forecasts.
- CPI fell 0.1% month-on-month, a narrower decline than June’s 0.3% drop.
- Gasoline prices dropped 10.7% month-on-month, which pulled the CPI down about 0.35 points, while pork rose 4.1% MoM and fresh fruit fell 3.8% MoM.
