Bryson DeChambeau Pushes for Simultaneous Play on LIV Golf and the PGA Tour as the PGA Announces a Two-Tier Structure

Bryson DeChambeau told The New York Post that his ultimate goal is to compete in both LIV Golf and PGA Tour events, rejecting the notion of an “either/or” choice. DeChambeau’s confidence in LIV’s longevity stems from CEO Scott O’Neil’s recent announcement of a “lead investor” that would sustain the league beyond 2026.

PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp, a former NFL executive, said the organization is not pursuing a merger with LIV Golf. He emphasized that the tour is focused on its own restructuring, which will launch a two-tier system in 2028. The top 120 players will compete in a “Championship Series,” while the remainder will play in a “Challenger Series” (or “Track B”). Promotion and relegation will be strict, creating a merit-based pathway that Rolapp described as an open shop.
