TIFF Debuts Its First International Financing and Project Market

The Toronto International Film Festival will host its inaugural International Financing and Project Market, TIFF: The Market, from September 10 through 16. The six-day event will showcase 51 projects—40 feature films, six series, and five innovative or immersive works—all seeking production and financing partners. More than 50 established producers from countries including Canada, Australia, Brazil, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Taiwan, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, the United States and Zimbabwe will present their work to financiers, distributors, sales agents and other industry executives.

Among the announced slate are several high-profile collaborations:

• “Central Park Tale,” an animated feature produced by Jacqui Barcos and John Fragomeni, directed by Daniel Jeanette, with a voice cast that includes Keke Palmer, Alan Cumming, Common and Regina Hall.

Presented by Ontario Creates, the market functions as a “curated incubator” designed to accelerate financing, foster co-production opportunities and connect creators with international collaborators. Selected producers will participate in a series of presentation and networking sessions, gaining visibility across TIFF’s digital tools and the chance to compete for industry awards. The emphasis is on works in advanced development, financing and packaging stages, aiming to bridge creative ideas with the capital needed to bring them to global audiences.
