Trump Supporter Claims ICE “Gestapo-Style” Detention of Fiancée

John Gannon, a 75-year-old Republican businessman from Texas, says his fiancée, Yasmin Suarez Reyes, was seized by eight Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston on July 24. According to Gannon, plain-clothes agents “swarmed” her and placed her in a car without explanation while the couple prepared to board a flight to Las Vegas for a furniture convention.

Suarez Reyes, a 45-year-old Venezuelan-born Spanish citizen, entered the United States lawfully on October 24, 2023. The statement adds that her case will be heard before a Justice Department immigration judge and that she is entitled to full due process.
