Producers announced on Tuesday that Tom Felton will remain in the role of adult Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child for an additional two months, marking the final extension of his engagement. Felton originally began performing at the Lyric Theatre on November 11, 2025. He had been slated to depart on November 1, 2026, but the new schedule now carries his run through Sunday, January 3, 2027.
Performance Schedule and Planned Absences
During the extended run, Felton will be absent from several scheduled performances: May 11-31, August 17-23, September 14-20, October 12-18, and November 2. These dates are listed in the production’s official calendar and will be covered by understudies.
Cast and Creative Team
The current production is led by John Skelley as Harry Potter and Trish Lindstrom as Ginny Potter, with Emmet Smith playing their son Albus. Rachel Christopher and Daniel Fredrick portray Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, while Janae Hammond appears as their daughter Rose. Aidan Close plays Scorpius Malfoy, and Kristen Martin is cast as Delphi Diggory.
The play, which opened in 2018, is based on a new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany. Thorne wrote the script, Tiffany directs, and the production features movement by Steven Hoggett, set design by Christine Jones, costumes by Katrina Lindsay, music and arrangements by Imogen Heap, lighting by Neil Austin, sound by Gareth Fry, and magical effects by Jamie Harrison.
