Fight Targeting and Card Status

UFC 332 is scheduled for October 3 at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, marking the promotion’s return to the venue since 2024. MMA Fighting reported that a bantamweight bout between former UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo and rising prospect Payton Talbott is being targeted for the event, and that both camps have agreed to the matchup while contract paperwork remains unsigned. The organization has not yet announced a headlining attraction for the card, but the bout is described by multiple outlets as the most significant fight added so far.

Deiveson Figueiredo’s Recent Record

Figueiredo, a two-time UFC flyweight champion, has competed at bantamweight since 2023 and is currently ranked #11 in the division’s Meta UFC rankings. According to Sports Illustrated, he suffered consecutive defeats to Umar Nurmagomedov and Song Yadong, extending a two-fight skid that follows earlier losses to Petr Yan and Cory Sandhagen. His only win in the last five outings was a split-decision victory over Montel Jackson in late 2025. The Brazilian fighter entered the bantamweight division after a loss to Brandon Moreno at UFC 283 and previously posted a three-fight win streak that included a submission over former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt.

Payton Talbott’s Rise

Talbott entered the UFC with an 11-1 record and has compiled a five-of-six win streak since signing with the promotion. Sports Illustrated notes that he defeated Felipe Lima and former two-division champion Henry Cejudo by decision in 2025, following a loss to Raoni Barcelos earlier that year. BoxingNews adds that he earned “Performance of the Night” bonuses for knockout victories over Cameron Saaiman and Yanis Ghemmouri in 2024. The Reno, Nevada native is currently unranked in the official Meta UFC Top 15 but is placed at #11 in media rankings after his victory over Cejudo.

Card Outlook and Significance

If finalized, the Figueiredo-Talbott clash would likely become the headline bout on a card that otherwise includes matchups such as Mick Parkin vs. Johnny Walker and Court McGee’s announced final fight. Analysts suggest the fight could reshape the bantamweight title picture, offering Figueiredo a chance to halt his recent slide and providing Talbott an opportunity to solidify his status as a top-15 contender.
