Turkey Parliament Bans PKK
- Turkey’s parliament passed a law on Monday, Aug 10 2026, creating a legal framework to disband the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
- The law suspends sentences for up to 15-year convictions for five years, but excludes offenses committed before June 1 2005, homicide and Abdullah Ocalan.
- The National Security Council must verify complete PKK disarmament before the law takes effect.
