Bhutan’s public broadcaster, Bhutan Broadcasting Service (BBS), staged the inaugural “Rhythm of Bhutan” competition to select the country’s entry for the first Eurovision Song Contest Asia. Five artists and bands performed, and the outcome was determined by three voting groups: 40 % from a professional jury, 40 % from the Bhutanese public, and the remaining 20 % from an international “Rest of the World” vote. Winning Song and Artist
The contest was won by Nyendra with the song “Lhayi Semo (The Angel).” The runner-up positions were Sangay Lhaden (“Pemi Tshewang Tashi”), Baeyul 301 (“Drenpa”), Karma Drupchu (“Pha Yuel”), and Pelden Wangchuk (“Jo’druel”). Nyendra’s victory makes him the first Bhutanese artist ever confirmed to appear at Eurovision Asia.
Song Requirements and Presentation
The Eurovision Song Contest Asia follows the same rules as its European counterpart: each entry must not exceed three minutes in length and may feature no more than six performers on stage. Nyendra’s entry complies with these parameters, positioning Bhutan to meet the contest’s technical standards.

The inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia is scheduled for November 14 in Bangkok, Thailand.
