Customs officers conducting a routine inspection flagged the shipment, prompting a follow-up investigation that traced the parcel to its intended recipient. The lawyer was arrested at the moment the delivery was made. Police later searched the lawyer’s residence and seized additional substances suspected to be illicit drugs, including more GHB, heroin, ecstasy and other controlled compounds, as well as an undisclosed amount of foreign currency.
