  • On 13 August 1724, Johann Sebastian Bach, serving as Thomaskantor, conducted Leipzig’s Thomanerchor in the premiere of his chorale cantata *Nimm von uns, Herr, du treuer Gott*, BWV 101, written for the tenth Sunday after Trinity and based on Martin Moller’s seven-stanza hymn set to Luther’s “Vater unser im Himmelreich” melody. It marked the start of Bach’s chorale cantata cycle.
