Shageyev Killed
- Robert Shageyev, a Captain 1st Rank and commander of Russian Black Sea Fleet’s 4th Submarine Brigade, was killed in an explosion on Stoletovsky Prospekt, Sevastopol, on August 13, 2026.
- He had defected after surrendering Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia in 2014 and later commanded the submarine B-262 Stary Oskol.
- Ukrainian authorities had notified him of suspicion of high treason in July 2022.
- Preliminary reports said a trash-can bomb detonated as he walked down an outdoor staircase.
