DNC Sets Calendar
- The Democratic National Committee approved a 2028 primary calendar in Austin Aug. 15, placing South Carolina first, dropping Iowa and New Hampshire.
- Any state defying the schedule could be fined $270,000 and lose full delegate representation at the 2028 Democratic National Convention, the DNC warned.
- Chair Ken Martin said calendar ensures nominee earns support in regions and demographics.
