H.E.R. singled out polvoron, the crumbly confection made from toasted flour, powdered milk and sugar, describing it as a clear favorite. She also expressed a strong fondness for halo-halo, the colorful shaved-ice dessert layered with sweetened fruits, beans, jellies and milk.
Liza Soberano initially admitted she was skeptical of polvoron, calling herself a “polvoron hater,” but later said yema—the rich custard-like candy—had become her top choice.
