White House Reinstates
- In August 2026 the White House asked Justice Department to reinstate charges against David Hearn after U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro dismissed the case.
- Pirro dropped July 31 felony charge, saying a rushed $14 million renovation, while President Donald Trump called it “contractor error” and said no video proof exists.
- Judge Todd Edelman dismissed the indictment, scheduled a September hearing on the case, and said Hearn’s lawyers moved to block it as “prosecutorial harassment.”
