Series Announcement
HBO is moving forward with *Advantage Player*, a limited series that follows a brilliant misfit who discovers how to outplay casinos. The project, inspired by the real-life advantage player Gina Fiore, was reported as an exclusive development by Deadline.
Creative Team and Source Material
Riley Keough will star as the lead and serve as an executive producer alongside Gina Gammell under their Felix Culpa banner. The series is written and executive produced by Will Graham, who will also act as showrunner. Graham previously collaborated with Keough on Prime Video’s *Daisy Jones & the Six*.
The narrative draws from Fiore’s memoir *Advantage Player: Blackjack, Backrooms, and Beginnings*, which chronicles her 24-year career as a professional gambler.
Production Partners
The series is a co-production between HBO and Media Res, the studio behind *Scenes From a Marriage* and the upcoming Damon Lindelof limited series *The Chain*. Invitation Media is also attached, marking its first pilot order with CBS for the comedy *Hilda! (In Lights)*. Additional executive producers include Michael Ellenberg (Media Res), Christina Malach, Tonia Davis and Max Linsky.
Official Response
A representative for HBO declined to comment on the series’ development.
Verbatim Quote
> “Gina Fiore has lived a life that seems too extraordinary to be true. Her journey is as gripping as any screenplay because every impossible twist actually happened. Her story is unforgettable — and Advantage Player is one you won’t soon forget.” — Riley Keough
