Flores Quake
- A magnitude-7.7 earthquake struck off Flores at 5:58 a.m. on 15 August 2026, with its epicentre 68 km NNW of Ende.
- The USGS reported a depth of 10 km.
- BMKG warned of 0.5-3 m tsunami waves, prompting evacuations in Maumere, Nagekeo and other coastal towns.
- Disaster-agency spokesman Berton Suar Pelita Panjaitan reported two deaths and said aftershocks up to magnitude 6.1 damaged buildings, collapsing a waiting room in Maumere.
