Mapi León Trades Barcelona for London City Lionesses in Search of a New Challenge

Spain centre-back Mapi León, 31, left FC Barcelona after a nine-year spell to join the Women’s Super League side London City Lionesses. The signing was announced in July, and León arrived in Kent during the pre-season period. She cited a desire to test herself in a different style of play and to “challenge myself” after years of dominance in Spain.
