100-Year-Old Ruby McNally Takes to the Skies for Her Centennial Birthday

Roseville, California resident Ruby McNally marked her 100th birthday by skydiving at SkyDance SkyDiving in Davis. Accompanied by six family members and friends, she completed a jump that mirrors the two-decade-old tradition she began at age 80. The event took place on a Thursday, with several of her grandchildren joining the flight.

McNally’s first jump occurred on her 80th birthday after her grandson issued a playful challenge. She repeated the experience at age 90, promising to return for her centennial celebration.

McNally’s daughter Sharon emphasized the lack of hesitation in convincing her mother to jump again. A granddaughter, April Bartok, reflected on the rarity of the experience, noting the uniqueness of skydiving with a 100-year-old grandmother. The family also discussed the possibility of making the jump an annual event, and McNally hinted she may consider another jump at age 110.
