Iran Offers Bounty
- On 16 August 2026 Iran’s army announced a $30,000 bounty for anyone who kills or captures a U.S. soldier, paying double for a woman.
- Iran framed the bounty as part of a “financial jihad” against what it calls invading American forces.
- Army chief Amir Hatami said the incentive followed numerous public requests for participation.
- He specified the reward equals 5 billion tomans, about $30,000, with women receiving twice that amount.
