Point of Pride Expands Support with Thrive Fund Grants

Point of Pride, a trans-led nonprofit that already provides free chest binders, femme shapewear, and financial assistance for transition-related surgery, hormone therapy, and electrolysis, has opened applications for its new Thrive Fund. The fund targets expenses not covered by existing programs, such as legal fees for name and gender-marker changes, fertility preservation, vocal therapy, and medical tattooing to restore skin pigmentation or conceal surgical scars. Applicants may request up to $2,500 per grant, with money typically paid directly to the provider or retailer.

High-cost, non-medical needs—e.g., egg-freezing up to $15,000, sperm-freezing $1,000, or medical tattooing $300-$3,000—often fall outside insurance coverage, creating barriers even for those who can afford medical aspects of transition.
