Zendaya and Tom Holland Tapped for Live-Action Hercules Remake

At the Disney + Marvel (D23) fan event, Susan Egan—original voice of Megara in the 1997 animated *Hercules*—publicly nominated Zendaya to assume the role of Meg in a forthcoming live-action adaptation. Egan also suggested Tom Holland should portray the titular Greek demigod alongside Zendaya. The announcement was made on the red carpet during the event’s Sunday programming.

The casting news follows a series of high-grossing Disney releases featuring Holland and Zendaya. Their collaborations in the *Spider-Man* franchise—including *Homecoming* (2017), *Far From Home* (2019), *No Way Home* (2021) and the 2026 installment *Brand New Day*—have collectively generated nearly $6 billion for Disney. Additionally, the duo’s summer appearance in *The Odyssey* (2026) has surpassed $1.29 billion at the global box office.

Egan explained that her endorsement of Zendaya is rooted in the actress’s long-standing career and personal qualities rather than the pair’s current popularity.
