Crowley Holds Early Four-Point Edge Over Tiffany in Badger Battleground Poll

A Badger Battleground poll commissioned by Platform Communications surveyed 500 likely Wisconsin voters on August 12 and 13. The poll found Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley (Democratic nominee) at 48 % support versus 44 % for U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany (Republican nominee). Among voters identifying as independents, Crowley led 42 % to 30 %.

Platform Communications CEO Brian Reisinger said the results illustrate a “very tight general election matchup” and reflect the typical early-stage dynamics of a purple-state race. Bjork suggested the poll may capture a post-primary boost for Crowley and warned that Tiffany’s summer advertising “hasn’t broken through.” Reisinger added that the governor’s race could influence the upcoming Wisconsin Assembly elections, which historically swing with national winds.
