Chinese companies Momenta and Pony.ai have recently secured pivotal regulatory approvals in Europe. Momenta obtained permission to conduct nationwide urban-road testing of Level 4 autonomous-driving systems in Germany, a step that enables commercial robotaxi operations. This extensive OEM network reinforces its claim as the leading independent autonomous-driving solution provider globally, according to Deutsche Bank’s assessment. Pony.ai’s alignment with Uber mirrors a broader trend of Chinese firms seeking footholds in Europe through joint ventures with established mobility providers.
