Payton Tolle’s 2024 Season Fuels Red Sox Extension Talks

Since rejoining the major-league roster on April 23, 23-year-old left-hander Payton Tolle has posted an 8-6 win–loss record with a 2.97 earned-run average (ERA), a 1.061 walks plus hits per inning pitched (WHIP) and a 3.21 fielding-independent pitching (FIP). He leads Boston’s rotation in strikeouts, hits allowed per nine innings (7.1) and strikeouts per nine innings (10.0).
