Rep. Jimmy Gomez Faces House Ethics Investigation Over Sexual-Misconduct Allegations

The probe follows an April 2023 *New York Post* report that Gomez was seen kissing a younger aide at a backyard party hosted by former Rep. Eric Swalwell. CNN reported on June 2 that three unnamed sources confirmed the Ethics Committee had begun looking into the matter, which later expanded to additional allegations. Gomez’s case comes amid other congressional ethics inquiries this year, including resignations of Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) and Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX).
