Bullock and Randall began dating in early 2015 after he photographed her son’s birthday party. Their partnership lasted eight years and included co-parenting Bullock’s adopted children, son Louis and daughter Laila, as well as Randall’s adult daughter, Skylar. ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that attacks motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord. According to the Mayo Clinic, the disease leads to loss of muscle control, eventual paralysis, and a typical life expectancy of three to five years after diagnosis. Randall’s family later confirmed that he battled the illness for three years before passing on August 5, 2023, at age 57.
