Investigators allege that the security company served as a front, violating customs and Value Added Tax (VAT) regulations while funneling the drones to groups engaged in smuggling weapons and firearms in southern Israel. Authorities are examining the three suspects for offenses under the VAT Law, the Customs Ordinance, suspected money-laundering, and criminal conspiracy. On Thursday, a court approved a police request to keep two of the suspects in detention until August 25. The third suspect was released under restrictive conditions.
