House Judiciary Committee Probes Jared Kushner’s Albanian Resort Deal

Democratic members of the House Judiciary Committee have sent a formal request to Jared Kushner for records related to his planned coastal development in Albania. Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) asked for documentation of any “approval or consideration” of the project, including communications with U.S. and Albanian officials, to assess whether Kushner’s actions could violate the 1977 Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).

Kushner announced the Albania venture in 2024 while Affinity Partners was heavily financed by Gulf sovereign wealth funds, notably about $2 billion from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. In July, reports emerged that the land for the resort was sold to Kushner’s firm by a businessman alleged to have ties to money-laundering and drug-trafficking, using a deed that investigators say may be falsified.
