Livakovic progressed through the youth systems of NK Zadar and NK Zagreb before debuting for Zagreb’s first team in the 2012/13 Croatian First Football League season. He transferred to Dinamo Zagreb for the 2016/17 season, where he remained for seven seasons, logging 295 appearances, conceding 249 goals, keeping 137 clean sheets, and winning seven league titles. In the summer of 2023 he moved abroad for the first time, joining Turkish side Fenerbahçe and making 74 appearances with 24 clean sheets. A loan spell in the 2025/26 season saw him return briefly to Dinamo Zagreb (15 appearances, 10 goals conceded, 8 clean sheets) and register with Girona, though he did not feature in league matches. Internationally, Livakovic has been a regular for Croatia since his senior debut in January 2017, participating in the 2018, 2022 and 2026 FIFA World Cups and the 2021 and 2024 European Championships. He was noted for key saves and penalty-shootout performances in Croatia’s run to the 2022 World Cup semi-finals.
