Resume Dispute Clouds Rep. Ryan Mackenzie’s Re-Election Bid

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has charged Republican Rep.

Mackenzie secured Pennsylvania’s 7th congressional district in the 2024 election by a 1-percentage-point margin and now faces Democrat Bob Brooks, former president of the Pennsylvania Professional Fire Fighters Association. The race has intensified after a 2024 revelation that Mackenzie’s 2020 Tinder profile listed him as 29 years old, while public records show he was 37 at the time. His office did not dispute the age discrepancy when it emerged.

In a 2012 interview with a local Pennsylvania outlet, Mackenzie himself said, “I was an employee at the US Department of Labor and also I used to hold my real estate salesperson’s license.” The campaign also declined to address the DCCC’s résumé-padding accusations. Separate inquiries to Harvard Business School and Boeing’s political-action committee, which listed Mackenzie’s real-estate background in a 2025 voter guide, yielded no comment.
