The BBC reports that Picnic’s robots were once deployed at Seattle’s T-Mobile Park, a venue that typically required a crew of roughly ten staff members to produce pizza for spectators.

New Endeavor by Entrepreneur Kindell

Former dough-maker Kindell, whose career shifted after an elbow tendon injury, is developing a new pizza-making robot inspired by 3D-printing technology. He envisions a kiosk where customers place an order and receive a freshly baked square-pan pizza without human intervention. Kindell acknowledges a lack of formal robotics expertise but remains confident that a functional prototype could be ready by the summer of 2027. He declined to disclose technical details of the device.

She also warns that widespread automation could displace entry-level hospitality jobs. Kindell counters that even fully autonomous pizza robots would not threaten workers, suggesting that automation might instead complement existing staff.
