Laura Loomer’s Racist Rants Spark Backlash from GOP Figures

Over the weekend, right-wing activist Laura Loomer posted a video on X in which she used multiple racial slurs to describe five Black women holding federal office: Florida Democratic Senate nominee Angie Nixon, U.S. Representatives Ilhan Omar and Ayanna Pressley, former Representative Cori Bush, and Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. The posts were followed by at least five additional messages that repeated the slur and labeled former Georgia congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene “Marjorie Traitor Greene.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene, who resigned from Congress in January, publicly condemned Loomer’s language, describing it as hateful, racist, and demeaning, and asserted that the remarks damage the Republican Party’s image. Angie Nixon responded to Loomer’s attacks by recalling a prior promotional video in which Loomer ate a “human-grade” bison organ dog-food topper, writing, “Girl. You ate dog food on camera.” Loomer later posted, “I meant every word I said about Angie,” reaffirming her stance.
