Debt and Credit-Rating Assertions
On the debt-to-GDP metric, Germany exceeds the eurozone ceiling of 60 % and ranks among the middle of EU members. Deficit-spending data place Germany’s net borrowing at 2.7 % of GDP, just under the eurozone limit of 3 % and the second-closest of the 17 compliant countries. Electric-Vehicle CO2 Balance
The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) finds that battery electric vehicles emit, on average, 73 % less CO2 over their lifecycle than internal-combustion cars, despite a roughly 40 % higher production emissions that are typically offset after one to two years of driving. A Technical University of Munich (TUM) paper, cited by right-wing media, suggested a 41 % reduction, but the study weighted older analyses with outdated electricity mixes equally with newer data, limiting its relevance.
