Sweden Secures Frigates
- Sweden and France signed a contract for four FDI frigates for the Royal Swedish Navy.
- The first Luleå-class frigate will be delivered in 2030, with the remaining ships arriving in 2032, 2033 and 2034.
- Defence Minister Pål Jonson said the frigates will triple Sweden’s air-defence with Aster 30 and CAMM-ER missiles.
- The ships will integrate Saab RBS 15 missiles, Giraffe 1X radar, Trackfire stations, Bofors guns and form a hybrid crewed-uncrewed force.
