Chiles earned a team gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics and a team silver at the 2020 Tokyo Games. She stepped into the finals at Tokyo when Simone Biles withdrew for mental-health reasons. At Paris, Chiles placed third on floor exercise, but the bronze medal was stripped after a protest by the Romanian Olympic Committee. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) upheld the protest, and the International Olympic Committee and the International Gymnastics Federation reassigned the medal to Romanian gymnast Ana Barbosu. In early 2026, the Swiss Federal Supreme Court ordered CAS to reconsider Chiles’ appeal, noting a “likelihood” that video evidence could allow her to retain the medal.
