Four Injured in Early-Morning Shooting Near Sacramento’s Granite Regional Park

In the early hours of Sunday, September 6, 2026, Sacramento police responded to multiple reports of gunfire in the Granite Regional Park area, specifically near the intersection of Cucamonga Avenue and Ramona Avenue. Officers arrived shortly after 12:30 a.m. and discovered three women with gunshot wounds.

The initial incident occurred in a residential-adjacent park zone. Shortly thereafter, police were dispatched to a separate vehicle crash on Folsom Boulevard near State University Drive, where a man with at least one gunshot wound was found. The crash site is close to Sacramento State University, where shots had reportedly been fired near a parking structure during the previous night’s football game.

According to the Sacramento Police Department, two of the women were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the third received on-scene treatment for minor wounds. The man involved in the crash was also taken to an area hospital, with his injuries described as non-life-threatening. In total, four individuals sustained gunshot injuries.
