Samsung Galaxy Fold 8 Ultra: Incremental Upgrades in a Mature Foldable Lineup

Samsung’s latest top-tier foldable, the Galaxy Fold 8 Ultra, joins the recently launched Fold 8 series. Priced at roughly NIS 6,900 (about $2,300), it sits above the smaller Fold 8, which starts near NIS 6,000 ($2,000). The Ultra retains the external dimensions of the previous Fold 7, offering a modest engineering refinement rather than a visual redesign.

Samsung increased battery capacity to 5,000 mAh (up from 4,400 mAh) using a silicon-based cell, delivering roughly one and a half to two days of typical use. Fast charging jumps from 25 W to 45 W, reaching 50 % in about 15 minutes with a compatible charger; a full charge takes roughly one hour. The phone runs Android 17 with One UI 9, retaining familiar AI tools such as video stabilization, My FanCam, and on-device transcription.
